Objectives:
1. Review the pathophysiology of the "new BPD"
2. Discuss pharmacologic lung-protective therapies in caring for the ELBW infant.
3. Describe management interventions implemented in the delivery room and upon admission to prevent BPD.

"A Cool Idea" Developing a Clinical Practice Guideline for Instituting Hypothermic Neuroprotection Prior and During Transport to Transport to a Regional Referral Center
Objectives:
1. Review the pathogenesis of perinatal hypoxia-ischemic encephalopathy and the clinical presentation of an affected infant.
2. Discuss the role and components of brain cooling for HIE.
3. Describe the process of instituting a practice guideline for instituting brain cooling in a community hospital and during transport to a regional referral center.
